SSS February 2018 Card Kit | Using a Card Sketch for a Crafty Card

I write all the time about how I use card sketches to guide me as I design and create a card. For this card, I had an idea of the theme I wanted for the card. I wanted to use my SSS February 2018 Card Kit that I had yet to use. I picked my favorite paper from the paper pad included for my background, and when I came across the cork-board paper, I knew I wanted to create a bulletin board with a pinned note.

I looked at the stamp set from the kit and another I had bought to use with the kit (Echo Park "Eat Sleep Craft" and came across the sentiment "Someone let me know when 'Professional Pinner' becomes a career option." Once I had my general idea, I searched through my collection of card sketches to find one I thought could work with the theme I had in mind.

Now, as I've stated previously, I use the card sketch as a guide but I don't always use it exactly as shown. In this case, I used the square/rectangle in the middle to create my bulletin board. I used the pink cardstock paper from the kit for my matte and the rectangle behind the "bulletin board." I also threw in some blue ribbon to bring out the blue in the background paper.

I finished the inside of the card with some of the blue paper (color is not right in picture) as well as a "pin" saying "This is my happy place" from one of the patterned papers. This card is perfect to send to a fellow crafty friend :)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
